Award Booking

The award booking service
that shows you the whole formula

AirMilesHK.comUpdated July 20266 min read

Award booking services usually work like this: you tell them where you want to go, they disappear behind a curtain, and a quote comes back with a fee baked somewhere inside it. We do the opposite. Our pricing is a formula you can check on a napkin: the award’s mileage cost × our per-point rate + whatever taxes the airline charges. That’s the entire price. Here’s how it works.

The rates

Airline programmeRate per pointLimit
Singapore Airlines (KrisFlyer awards)1.65¢
Cathay Pacific (Asia Miles awards)2.00¢Awards up to 120,000 points
Emirates (Skywards awards)2.15¢Awards up to 100,000 points
Other airlinesSend the route — we quote with the same formula

Worked example: a Singapore Airlines business class award priced at 50,000 KrisFlyer miles costs 50,000 × 1.65¢ = $825, plus the taxes Singapore Airlines itself charges. A 92,000-point Cathay award: 92,000 × 2.00¢ = $1,840 + taxes. No booking fee on top, no service charge, no minimum order — a 30,000-point award is as welcome as a 100,000-point one. There’s a live calculator on our flight booking page.

How it works

The fast lane — you found the award. Log in to the airline’s own website, search award availability for your dates, and when you see the seat you want, send us a screenshot — or just the route, date and points required — on WhatsApp. We confirm the total with the formula above and issue the ticket in your name from our own miles. You never transfer points anywhere, never share your frequent flyer login, never touch the grey areas of moving miles between accounts.

The full service — we do the searching. Don’t want to hunt availability? Send your route and a date range through our flight request form and we search across programmes for the best award, then quote it the same transparent way. The wider your date range, the better the seat we find.

Why this beats buying miles for many travellers

Buying miles into your own account makes sense for people who redeem often or want a standing balance. But for a single trip, issuing is simpler and often safer: there’s no minimum purchase (our Emirates miles transfers start at 500,000 — yet we’ll issue an Emirates award of any size up to 100,000 points), nothing lands in your account for an airline to question, and the price is fully known before you commit. It’s the difference between buying ingredients and ordering the dish.

The honest part

The ticket is issued from a genuine frequent flyer account holding genuine miles — but that account is ours, not yours, and airline programme rules generally require award tickets to be booked from the traveller’s own account or by someone they know. In practice, tickets in the passenger’s correct name, booked sensibly, fly without issues — we’ve been doing this for years — but in the rare event an airline questions a booking, that is the risk involved. We tell you this because a service built on trust shouldn’t need you to discover the fine print yourself. If your itinerary is mission-critical with zero flexibility, tell us — we’ll advise honestly whether issuing or a cash ticket serves you better.

Two things to know before you book: an award ticket earns no miles, points or status credit for the passenger — even with your own frequent flyer number on the booking. And if an airline does cancel a ticket before you travel, you get back 100% of everything you paid us, taxes included, with no deduction. Read the full award ticket terms →

What to send us

Three things get you a quote in minutes: the route, the dates (or a screenshot of the award you found), and the cabin. That’s it. We reply with one number and the taxes breakdown, you decide.

Frequently asked questions

How does the award booking service price tickets?

The award's mileage cost multiplied by our per-point rate, plus the airline's taxes and carrier charges. No booking fees.

Will my award ticket earn miles or status?

No. Award tickets accrue nothing in any programme — if earning matters to you, a paid fare suits you better and we will say so.

What if the airline cancels my ticket?

You receive a 100% refund of everything you paid us, including taxes, within 3–5 business days. Voluntary changes and cancellations, however, are not permitted after issue.

Can I send award space I found myself?

Yes — screenshot the availability and send it on WhatsApp. We price it all-in and, if you go ahead, issue it.
